I cannot test it personally since I do not have a Smart Phone. I decided some time back, the dumber the phone, the better I like it.
And here I thought I was the only person left. I guess there are two of us. ;)

From my understanding, he likes it that way.

I believe he has a cell phone with a dial on it.

While tracking these things is useful, it is reactive instead of proactive. Being proactive is a LOT harder, but can be a lot more decisive. For example:
The FDA Current Drug Shortages Index (selected drugs).
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/DrugShortages/ucm050792.htm
(Avoiding “the flying, blunt, sharp and poisonous” things is all well and good, but if you have angina and can’t get your nitroglycerine pills, you are a dead man. And vulnerabilities like this are widespread.)
And it’s not just drugs. Medical equipment is stored in a “push” supply system. For example, the US has only about 102,000 oxygen ventilators. In a typical flu season, it uses about 100,000 of these. No way in heck are there enough for even a bad flu season. This means our medical system is always on a razor’s edge for shortage failure. During Katrina, hospitals in the region were getting resupplied by hospitals four states away.

Have you stopped to think that possibly signing up for the ap puts you on a list that defines you as a sure prepper. Then your phone’s GPS tracks you. The info can be sold so that the moochers can then find you and your stored food and supplies. ??????

I know the author. The man is firmly on our side. The data would be destroyed before being relinquished. The code certainly does not have any betraying features. I haven't seen the code, but I do know the individual.
There may be other similar apps that DO do what you have described. This one is not it.

Now there’s 3 of us. I’ve got a 4 year old Pantech slider phone. It’s got it’s own keyboard, so I’m happy. I’m too cheap to pay $30/month for a data plan.
To: Lazamataz
"Yes. Perhaps the author will port it to other platforms."
There are other platforms? ;)

works until the phone system is shut down or collapses! Then what are people gonna do? We have become too reliant on cell tech. Just my thought/s.....

"I know the author. The man is firmly on our side" Laz, that is good to know, and I certainly trust you if you say so. Thanks for taking the time to pass that assurance on. :)

I have ATT and most of the time a clam shell might be better. Visiting friends in rural area. NO SERVICE. They with Verizon have 4 bars. Grrr. Thankful as it is free under my brother’s family plan.. but even free can be annoying.
Happy Thanksgiving Laz

Who developed this app? Is this another way for big government to get a select list of pepper oriented people?
