Oops. Excerpted a bit more than I intended:
Scientists say that solar activity is stranger than in a century or more, with the sun producing barely half the number of sunspots as expected and its magnetic poles oddly out of sync.

What is it? It's a medium size star closest to the Earth--but that isn't important right now.

The Sun now has two south poles.
The magnetic north pole switched to south, but the south pole has yet (after a year) to switch to magnetic north.
I don’t get why they don’t fly apart. But I’m happy that they didn’t.
