A Georgia police officer shot and killed a tiny Jack Russell Terrier that he claims threatened him during a routine probationary checkup on Monday.
The officer, Antoine Jones, is over six feet tall and weighs nearly 300 pounds. Patches, the dog he killed, weighs just 12 pounds, according to a local news channel.
Jones visited the Albany residence of Cherrie Shelton earlier this week to check on her son, who is serving probation. Upon Joness arrival, two-year-old Patches approached the officer and began barking. Shelton claims she told Jones that Patches was no threat, but the officer drew his weapon and shot the dog anyway.
After being shot, Patches fled and hid, eventually succumbing to her wounds.
According to Joness statement, Patches advanced toward him in a threatening manner even after receiving multiple verbal commands to get back.
But Shelton said this was not Joness first visit to the home, and the officer should have known that Patches was harmless.
Shelton buried Patches, and has plans to buy a cross to mark her grave. The dog is missed, she said.
You truly are a liberal troll.
Give it up! Your post 39 on this thread stated the officer was black. It has been removed. On the removed thread you stated that black people are afraid of dogs and that's why he shot it. All the dancing around it won't change what you said.
Considering the accusation, it was appropriate.
I’ve spent plenty of time in the Yukon. Are you a Canadian?

Agreed.
“IBTZ”
Not happening, not sure why either. Take a look at its posting history. It has been doing this for a while. It REALLY needs to be zotted. It is best to try to ignore it. It seems to THRIVE on confrontation. It likes to hijack threads.
I think not.
How can I deny what I don't know? What is it that I posted in 39. Verbatim. Send it to me in mail if it is too offensive to post here.
He’s on another thread inciting riots there too.
Thou preachest truth, and art poetic, to boot.
YOu should read the article and the posts which indicate the guy is considered a law enforcement officer, aka cop.
You’ve already been told what you posted and no one is stupid enough to FReepmail you.
Obviously this was because of the War on Drugs
//sarcasm
Oh yeah I understand that but the way they described it, it was like they are assuming all dogs understand back off commands which is ridiculous. I use to serve subpoenas in the 1980s in New York city which if you ever want to commit suicide is a good job to take - in the 5 years I did it I was shot at 8 times - and I remember one time I had one I had to serve to this guy who was using his property as a junk yard for cars. Right in the middle of a residential area he had one car after another stacked on his front lawn. And when I opened the gate and walked to his front door about 5 rottweilers ran towards me viciously barking and my only thought was “I am dead”. And something inside me told me to remain completely still so I did. So they ran up and sniffed me all over and incredibly backed off. So I slowly walked back to the gate, if I even made any kind of a sudden move they immediately ran towards me again barking. I think it took me half an hour to walk 10 feet lol. But my point being if I can survive 5 rottweilers which the Romans use to train to rip people apart, then this idiot could have survived a little Jack Russell. The secret is to interrupt the training pattern. I wasn’t attacked because they were trained to only attack someone who was running. Of course you will get dogs who will attack anybody who crosses a border no matter what they do, but I lucked out and my life was spared because that idiot only trained them to attack running targets. Oh yeah and I got him back a month later ...I scoped out his place for 3 days out of revenge until he was outside the gate then BAM...He was served! And he was a big guy, like 6’6” and I told him “You are served sc*mbag” then I ran away lol lol
Give the name calling a rest.
I neither like nor dislike “cops”. This is about holding them accountable when they do wrong. Shooting a 12 pound dog on his own property is wrong. This isn’t the first time, or, I’m certain, the last time, this is going to occur.
We need to rein them in. They have become more than arrogsnt and have forgotten who it is they serve. For some weird reason, you don’t seem to understand that.
Thanks.
I read it. Rather amusing, isn’t it?
LOL!!! Good on you!!!
