Using the lever revolution ammo greatly enhances the ballistics of the 30-30. The only question is, will the rifle fire the higher powered ammo. The new ones will. As for 30-30 rifles, I prefer the Henry because you can mount a scope.
I have had my Model 94 for 35 years and have never had a scope on it and with original sights it is pretty good out to 150 yards on deer sized targets. I carry it in heavy brush country where you are lucky to shoot 75 yards and it is a quick one.
Both my Winchester and Marlin 30-30s have provision for scope mounting. The Henry is not unique in this respect.
