I look at homosexuality as no better or worse than any other sin. For instance, if I knew of someone who was a serial shoplifter, I wouldn't shout them down and denounce them in the street, but on the other side of the coin I wouldn't excuse their behavior by saying, Well thats just how God made them.... or The church better stop preaching that stealing is a sin, because we dont want to scare away shoplifters and their families who might get offended. At least "Thou shall not steal" made the top ten list. Can't say the same about "Thou shall not commit homosexuality." I'm not saying that homosexuality isn't a sin, rather, many of us seem obsessed with a sin that God didn't seem to think is important enough to include in the top ten like the stuff about killing, stealing, committing adultery, false idols, and keeping the Sabbath Holy, etc.

Your first mistake might be in comparing the Decalogue to a "top ten list."

" I'm not saying that homosexuality isn't a sin, rather, many of us seem obsessed with a sin that God didn't seem to think is important enough to include in the top ten" Yeah, not important enough.
He just called it an abomination, detestable, depraved, degrading, and indecent. Just that. /s

The 10 commandments were for a people, the Jews, who were already trying to follow some sort of pious life.
My take on it is entirely different. It’s that homosexual acts were not so common, and were universally understood to be extremely evil, just like bestiality, or pedophilia, which also are not among the 10 commandments. And they certainly weren’t considered minor. Hey, cannibalism, torture and kidnapping aren’t up there, either.
