I don’t think a dog alerting is grounds for a warrant. Too darn easy for the handler to signal the dog, consciously or unconsciously.

Sniffer dogs have their place but the average stop or questioning of a citizen is not one of them.

Also IMOthe whole war on drugs is far more harmful than the drug problem. Let’s legalize marijuana and opium derivatives - if they’re easy to get hold of, maybe there will be a lot of mellowed users, and fewer people raging around on meth or PCP.

1) Police k9 unit detected drugs on the drivers side giving the judge reason enough to justify the search warrant.
