I thought we had a hunger problem?
I give out candy, but surprisingly the biggest hit is the Halloween pencils. Thought the kids would just sneer at them, but every year they come back and ask if I have the pencils again. Lot less expensive than candy, too, with a gross costing about $25 including shipping.

In the picturesque city of Detroit, MI, it’s known as Devil’s Night, and for good reason.
What ever happened to responding to the little extorters saying “trick or treat” with yelling “Trick!” and hitting them with a cattle prod? Oh, that’s right, the restraining order from last year. :-)
Ah, Devil's Night in Detroit, where so many garages and vacant homes get torched that the fire department won't respond to most of them. Of course, the 'devils' have succeeded where urban renewal failed; so many less blighted homes and garages than there used to be.
And don't forget New Year's Eve, where the entire city is a no-fly zone, so many people are acting like Libyans after Benghazi, firing their weapons straight up into the air to celebrate.

Is it any wonder what is wrong with kids these days? One the one hand liberals insist that all be fair and we not judge, rank or hurt kids feelings. We have to give “participation trophies” so that no one feels like a loser. We need to restructure education so that kids don’t see “red ink” or “FAIL”. We also have to spend millions on anti-bullying programs and suicide prevention and counseling. On the other hand, liberals want to send notes home to parents calling their kids fat and/or tell kids they are fat to their face and discourage them from collecting/eating candy on Halloween.
The West is raising future bi-polar mental patients.
