While I live one way, I feel it is essential to let others live their way, WD. I don’t want anyone telling me I can’t homeschool my kids or feed them what I want or worship how I want. And for my freedom, I am willing to let others live their way, including polygamy or gay couples raising kids. I want mines!!
I believe the Tea party started only with essential constitutional Gd-given freedoms, especially in economics. And we should leave it with a platform of following the Constitution, small government, fiscal responsibility from our small government. The Tea Party should be without a religion.
Of course the gay agenda is 99% reprehensible. We can agree there. Children need a mom and a dad if possible, and do not need to be sexualized by even discussing gay or hetero sex in elementary school.
The 1% of the agenda that I can support is prevention of bullying or cruelty toward innocent children who seem to have a tendency to be like or play like the opposite gender.
Conservatism and the Tea Party aren’t defined with the exact same borders. Conservatism encompasses more because it’s a movement, a way of life, and does have a very social side. I agree that as a way of belief and living, it needs its social side or else it would be libertarianism. But the Tea Party is to be a smaller circle, encompassing what all voters who believe in the constitution and smaller government, yet also a strong defense, want. I see libertarians and many patriotic democrats voting with us. I see us FINALLY FORCING THE DEMS to have to define themselves as they really are, opposed to freedom and seeking Big $$$ from taxpayers for everything they want. Staying focused on fiscal will make us clean, mean, and successful.
I didn’t reread my post but I never said women are yucky or sex with women is yucky. Nor did I really want a discussion of men’s privates! I told you, people get mean about gays (calling them by slurs) BECAUSE it’s yucky to them, what gays do. But there are things you might do that other freepers might find yucky - that doesn’t mean anyone should call you bad names. Shep Smith did not do anything sexual on air, so he doesn’t deserve to be called a fudge packer. That’s all I meant, he keeps it private.
