I think it has more to do with being pushed around by PC liberals. People are fed up. There's a backlash coming and it won't be pretty.

I can see that point. The election of 2008 changed me fundamentally in that regard.
I was all about perfect honesty. If a rumor or a misquote made us look good a liberals look bad, I’d honestly point out the mistake every time. I thought that we’d win on the issues alone.
Then I was introduced to the Low Info Voter en mass and I quit caring. Liberals sling lies and the LIV buys it hook, line, and sinker. I realized that we were being clobbered by taking the high ground. It’s like letting a bully beat you up every day because you don’t ‘believe’ in violence.
Now I just smile and keep my mouth shut because the LIV is going to sink us if we don’t.
In that way, Liberals killed a good part of me.
