I once came across some show where the twin of a gay guy was browbeaten that he must be gay too and was just in denial. It was disgusting.
Would you like your child to be called a deviant at school? Surely, if you had a child, he would “deviate” from the “norm” on some scales. We all do.

I remember the quote, “First, they came for the Jews...” I am offended by slurs against men, whites, blacks, Asians, Hispanics, Jews, Christians, any innocents who are members of a tribe, culture, etc. I do wonder why FR allows slurs against individual and innocent gay people.

You are using emotion, not fact, to characterize me. I am not being “disgusting.” You put that in there because the subject matter involves sex.
To me, both involve behavior and both come from physical causes. I’ve worked with little boys who prefer girl’s toys and seem effeminate. They don’t know sex exists. They did indeed come that way. I am looking at evidence and you are using emotion and your own choice. I believe children born “gender different” and with Down syndrome both need our compassion because neither chose the way they are. And they are both precious.

Politics don’t enter into my thoughts on the origins of sexual dysfunctions. I have studied the brain and I have studied children. That is where I make my opinions. We neither of us know for sure.

MY ENTIRE POINT joining this thread was my unhappiness, shared by a few hardy fellow conservatives, at FReepers loving to use ugly slurs against homosexuals. I don’t feel it enhances us a decent people.

The post you are referring to was about effeminate boys, pre-sex, choosing girly toys or pastimes. That boy at age 4 playing how he wishes is as innocent as his buddy at age 4 with Down syndrome.

The problem is no one with bipolar or in depression holds on pride parade celebrating their condition. While I have some sympathy for your description of their condition (although I don’t completely agree with it), their attitude toward their condition is what makes them “deviant”.
A homosexual who genuinely seeks means to if not cure, at least manage and control their condition, the same way a bipolar person would, would not be a “deviant” in my view.
