Well at some point oil will go back up.

Was in the oil industry almost 35 years. Do not ever believe anyone who says they know what the price of oil will be in over a 3 month window.

You are right this business is cyclic, and it will go up at some time. As far as sweet spot for the US economy, we need energy independence. Doing that will keep the price in the $40-$80/bbl permanently (Exception- World geopolitical events)
