VANITY: Discussion of gun show shopping list
Vanity ^ | 10-23-2013 | Vanity

Hypothetical scenario:

There's going to be a big gun show in your home town. You might be able to go, you might be able to take a few c-notes with you.

Deal is, you have one ground rule:

Any firearms purchase must be something that is not common or ubiquitous.

That is to say, you're not interested in anything that you could just march in one of your hometown gun stores, or china-marts, or pawn shops, and buy the day before. You want something that you really probably only find at a gun show.

You want something that would be useful. In 2013, you know?

In the age of 0bama.

No 870's. No 10-22's. No 700's or anything like that, because you could always just go to the gun store and get those on Monday without having to deal with the mob at the gun show.

You've got 3 or 4 c-notes to spend.

No other constraints.

Walking in the door, what are you keeping your eye out for, and about what are you expecting to pay for it?

“Tokarev TTs are still common and cheap and shoot the same kevlar-vest-munching round”.

Have a look at the Romanian Tokarevs. They are still plentiful and affordable. They fit my hand much better than the CZ-52.

Oh, those are nice.

If you know of a source for lanyard rings, let me know, though. The importer is removing them for some reason. Numrich and Sarco don't have them.

I have a pair of them that I bought from Century International 4 or 5 years ago. They both have lanyard rings but don’t know what the current crop looks like.

Mine were my last purchase before I let my C&R FFL expire. They have been my favorite plinkers ever since.
