I, as a mother, taught all three of my boys to sit when they go. I did not want to get down behind the toilet and clean up their mess! When they got old enough that they knew better than to make a mess, they were allowed to stand. They know mom will give them heck if they make a mess, and to put the toilet seat down before they leave.
At work, the mens room only had a commode. Somebody posted a sign that said, “Your mom doesn’t pee here. Leave the damn lid up!”
Still, it was always down. Men are so conditioned by women.
I just never want my son to have to ask the following question. “Mommy, is it okay if I stand up?”
