Does anyone think that there will be a US House "GOP""Leadership" shake-up?

I predict major GOP losses in the next election, we won't see a GOP President in my lifetime.

I hope I am wrong, but sadly I don't feel that it is possible.

The GOP-E knows they lost the battle big-time... but they're more interested in preserving what they see as the "status quo". What the idiots don't realize is that as a result of this huge defeat the balance of power in America has shifted significantly more to the Left.

But what the idiots are counting on is that by the time the mid-year elections come around, while all may not be forgotten there will be a new crisis they can use to show why they should be re-elected.

Never forget -- the No. 1 priority for most of the members of the Stupid Party (and for nearly all political officeholders) is not anything as "esoteric" as the preservation of our Constitutional Republic, the separation of powers or preservation of traditional American values which they practice when it's not inconvenient to do so ... No ... that's a distant second to their top priority --- getting re-elected and getting "love" inside The Beltway.

I shake my head at the comments on this thread...

Well my long-time fellow FRiend ... shaking the head sometimes helps clear out the cobwebs. The House Boner and Old McConnell have once again failed -- and failed miserably -- to do their jobs as the opposition party leaders.

Screw Boehner and screw the GOP. Conservatives have no place in that party. The sooner we realize this the sooner we can move on and start a third party. In the short term it won’t be pleasant, but the crap is going to hit the fan anyway.

“I shake my head at the comments on this thread...”

Failure is failure.

Libs reward it.

We don’t.

Ive been thinking all day about the hammer falling on us and as an optimist I see a new beginning. Those that stood tall will be vindicated very soon and the DC cocktail party set is going to feel real heat.

Those of us that have been fighting for yrs and LOSING will see a reversal soon.
0bamacare and 0bama himself will self destruct....and the handful of Senators/Reps will come back swinging.

No. Boehnor isn’t acting any different than he did prior to being re-elected Speaker. Only a handful opposed him last time. They were duly spanked. The GOP rank and file has no guts. All talk.

Expect more of the same.

Tried to telephone the RNC to demand the immediate resignations of Boehner and McConnell from their leadership positions, and got the “all lines are busy now, leave a message” message.

They don't care about your single vote. They do what their money bundelers want.

Anyone know how many votes it takes to force a new election for the Speaker?

The Speaker serves for the term unless he resigns or dies, although I suppose some rule change could be moved and passed. That would be a bloody mess, though.

Can some of the votes come from the minority party?

Yes, they all vote. The last time it was anything but a party-line vote was Jim Traficant voting for Hastert in 1990.

Johnny Boner ain’t through yet. His next mission is to lose the house, after that he will retire.

The difference is when Reid says he is not budging, you know he isn’t going to. When Boehnor says he isn’t moving....everyone knows the cave is imminent. He has undermined himself over and over again and has no credibility with anyone.

I would agree that given Boehnor’s well known history of capitulation, it would be hard to know what to do to regain any credibility.

Everyone who voted to make re-elect him Speaker is to blame. This is nothing new. They all knew that he had zero leadership ability and zero credibility yet chose him as their leader.

Well, if there is any way that a majority of the House could force a vote for speaker then there is a certain way to remove Boner.

1-Tea Party members let it be known they will not vote for Boner.

2-The Dems all vote for Pelosi and with the Tea Party guys refusing to vote for Boner she becomes Speaker.

3-Tea Party members announce they will now vote unanimously for a qualified conservative for Speaker.

4-A new vote for Speaker is forced and the GOPe members can either vote for the new conservative choice or suffer along with Pelosi at the helm.

This all depends on whether or not a majority can by hook or crook force a new election for Speaker.

He’ll just be replaced by another whimp. No hope for the GOP.

When Boehner is finally given his walking papers, I suspect Cantor and the GOP-E feel that he is next line for the job and I certainly don't think he is any improvement.

He will have little power if he continues and I do not expect him to be re-elected in 2014.

All I know is that I live in a long time Republican district that went RAT last year, and if the next Pubbie wants my vote he will have to pledge to vote against Boehner. Otherwise I’ll stay home.

I smile when I see the same old “plan” being pitched. “We’ve got to run conservatives.” The republican party is owned by the rino elites. It’s like working for a company owed by a family and wanting to get rid of them. So, the plan is to “hire” more workers who don’t like the bosses. The problem is the owners are the ones in charge of hiring.

Yes. There will be a huge shake-up in Congress.

I seriously doubt that. Did you hear Rush recently talk about the millions (yes millions) that have been pouring into McConnell's reelection campaign?

The arrogant GOPe along with the help of the evil MSM will be full-bore destroying all Conservative GOP primary challenges.

Conservatives can win, but it will be a very, very difficult task. Most Conservative voters are no way as near informed as Freepers -- therefore likely not as motivated.
