Do they actually pick up the mumbles?
I've watched TV while on the treadmill at the gym and the stuff that comes across the subtitling is absolutely laughable. But then again, it's usually live feed on news broadcasts......

Pretty much, I think. With last night’s eppy, it seemed that the CC was in sync with what crazy woman was saying. Might be worth your while to try it one day to see what you think.
I just watched the episode at amc.com, and the closed captioning were excellent!
