Funny you should bring this up...
We have a friend who’s is active duty and just got promoted. They put photos of the ceremony on FB and there was the promoting officer (female)’with her right hand raised, giving the oath (allegiance to the Constitution) with a big fat tatt on her arm....
Classy.

Before I heard the term “tramp stamp” I used the term “billboard butt”.

Ever since I learned about what happened to people with ‘interesting’ tattoos in the Nazi camps, tattoos give me the creepy crawly’s.

At least I’m not the only one jumping to apparently silly conclusions about content based on the name of the channel.

And there I thought the History Channel was popular because we’d become a nation of history buffs...

“The History Channel is not about the study of history.”

I agree, but I do watch it. What else on TV is worth spit?
I do not even watch FOX news. Every time I went there , I saw only the leftist clowns. “America’s Book of History” might be good, but I have not seen beyond the promos.
I see that Duck Dynasty, which I have yet to watch, is the 3rd best rated show on cable. I understand that it is a real family and conservative.
I sometimes watch Nat. Geo or a movie, but that is about it, other then History.

I firmly believe that tattoos are marks of ownership... for livestock, slaves, and prisoners.

I like the concept of visible tattoos because they clearly show me which females have bad judgement... In my “socially acceptable” dating range I would venture that 70% of them are marked.

It’s a safe bet that tattoo removal will be a growing industry in a few years.

Well put.

Along the lines of what you said, an unadorned woman in her natural state is one of the most beautiful things in existence. They can add things like nice clothes, jewelry, makeup and so on that sometimes enhance their beauty, but a feminine woman in her natural state can be be heartstoppingly, achingly and wonderfully beautiful, especially if the inner workings of that woman radiate outward.

Those inner workings, the head on her shoulders, can take a plain looking woman and make her brilliantly attractive, and can make an attractive woman a magnet for men...we can see that radiating outwards in them, sometimes more plainly than the outside forms of their bodies. Ever see a woman at a party that the guys have gravitated to? It isn’t always because she is drop-dead gorgeous or easy to get in bed, it is often because she simply likes and understands men, and our antennae pick that up and are attracted to it.

I have always viewed women as a civilizing force on men. Call me old fashioned, but many guys have an inherently primitive, un-commonsensical side to our composition.

I guess it has to do with testosterone.

Most honest guys can watch a movies like “Jackass” and acknowledge that deep down inside, we have all had at least some element of that stupid recklessness inside of us. Whether it was one crazy thing we did at eight, eighteen or twenty eight, or a series of things in your life, it is often a miracle any of us made it to adulthood. Sometimes, when I tell my wife about some of the crazy, stupid things on my journey through life, she exclaims she never did anything like that, and very few of the girls she knew did.

So I have always appreciated the role that women have always had in making us better men. They do. (at least the GOOD women)

Nowadays, women seem to want to demonstrate that they can be as stupid and reckless as men sometimes are. They want to show they can be mean, brutal, promiscuous and venal just like men, and often in the same ways. We all know they are capable of it, but the concept of consciously doing it to show some kind of twisted, perverted equality is disgusting. I find it appalling.

I blame it on the feminist movement.

I see this tattooing, piercing and mutilation of their own bodies in this same light. There are exceptions, of course, but I don’t think any of it is good in the long run.

I miss the old History Channel’s previous incarnations such as the Gulf War Channel and the Nazi documentary channel.

Another thing I miss more is the old classy A&E that ran the NBC mystery movies and the later remade Nero Wolfe.

I know what you mean.

I occasionally worry about being in certain situations at some point in the future and having someone spy my gold molars.

Makes me want to walk around with a bottle of whiteout in my pocket.

People think “Oh, that kind of thing will never happen here...”

I have bounced around the Middle-East and now the Philippines, involved in security work. I was on a number of maritime security teams in the Indian Ocean, Red sea and so on. The other team members were mostly Brits. All but a few of them had tattoos and I recall them having discussions of what there “next one” would be. Much more than I had seen in the US as a group.Tattoo’s are becoming very popular here in the Philippines, men and women both. I see no value to them. My father had some and by the time I was old enough to listen, he was regretting them.

I've never understood why tattoo parlors are open all night.

These "artists" need to capture the moment... you know the moment after she and her 2 bovine acquaintences stumble out of the barroom next door and are inspired drunk.

That is one of the problems with a so-called market-based tv system. Conservative critics roast PBS for being a government-influenced medium and unconstitutional, but the fact is people with IQs above turnip level are routinely frustrated by a medium, cable tv, that purports to give them what they want. We are all victims of low information i.e low IQ adults/dullards who think a food-eating contest or a show about two guys trying to cheat people with old items is far more interesting than actual historical interest or visits to far away places. One of the few cable shows with content that actually mostly lives up to its description is the Military Channel.

Yes...To me it would be an instant turn-off.
I have seen them only on the History TV shows.

I do not know how culture is now in the USSA. I was last there in 2004. Unless there is a miracle from God, I do not expect to ever return. The reelection of Obumbo told me all that I need to know.
