With all the negativity, the votes, the nastiness of late, your post is an oasis of peacefulness.

When the events of the day threaten my peace of mind, and shatter my nerves, I remember to turn to Him in trust, but not blindly.

We are to be prepared (the foolish virgins are not an example He wants us to follow), but we must not put our faith in men/women.

I will follow Him, Lord of my soul. And how I wish congress would do the same, and speak the truth to all of us, so we could get oil for our lanterns.

Instead, they promise us oil that they do not have, and cannot provide.
