When I got my cat I determined every morning I had to “go to the barn and do chores”...(clean out the litter and feed and water the animal). Same with coming home from work...chores goes with having animals....and not uncommon to check before bedtime.

You are right..it’s upkeep and seeing to it...and I’m not always in the mood for these chores either! But you get it done....

Yep, itchy eyes, headache, etc ......... when the last cat passed at age 16, no more kitties here. Now this is the dog house.

Can you put them in the garage? You can at least try to bring them to your yard...maybe momma cat will leave them. It has to be a safe place though...where she will feel secure from predators. You can also try to zyrtec during this transition.

At one month old will these kittens be difficult to capture or be feral like?

4 weeks they are just beginning to crawl and are easy to catch. 4 -5 weeks is when they can start to be weened too....mix KMR and soft kitten food to start. I don’t bother taming them if over 6-7 weeks because it is much harder every day you wait..after 4-5 week stage. Ideal age to take in is 4-5 weeks. Course, the best way to take them in 4-5 weeks WITH the mom. The longer they have the mothers milk, the healthier they will be.

I should of added that as soon as I see them....newborns to 6-7 weeks is when i grab them. I also trap the mom and let her stay with them until at least 8 weeks. I usually have them in cages in a spare room. The SOONER you start to pick up the babies, the faster and easier it is to tame. I was assuming in your post, you wanted to just take the kittens and not the mom. In that case, leave them with her until 4-5 weeks. But, remember the risk of her moving them during that time is great. Also, they will no doubt have fleas, mites, parasites and colds. Thus requiring lots of medicines and diarreah....

I captured two of the three kittens. Went out and bought kitty food, litter, etc. Put them in a rabbit cage although one corner wasn’t secure due to a missing hook.

Kept them outside but they were very comfortable, and had a blanket inside and outside of the cage.

That darn mother cat managed to get them out. I was fuming this morning!!!!! Now I have to go get them again... and it wasn’t easy the first time.

They have been recaptured. There are now three. Two are a creamy white like Siamese, and one light black. They are approximately one month old.

I have since learned that if one is giving away kittens to never give them away for free because some jerks in this world will take advantage of that and feed them to their snakes or use them as bait in pit bull fights. Always give them to someone you can trust.

I need to find homes for these cute little guys.

WEll...you have to keep them for at least 7 weeks...and yes, craigslist esp. is the place to find free kittens for snake food...they even have friends all ready to pretend they are vets approving of them. I hope you will go to a petstore and ask the volunteers, near the cat adoption, area for help.
