I had a Verizon system for a couple of years and it worked great. Now I use Net10 3G when mobile (3 - 4Mb), which offers unlimited data, text, and voice nationwide for $45 month.

Anything less than unlimited could get expensive. I've never had sat, and don't know much about it except others, who do have it, complain about the lag. The speeds you've mention that you're getting is pretty darn good.

My home connection now is 15Mb over cable. Love it and would really miss it, if I relocate.

I really believe it is because of the satellite they launched in December of 2011 IIRC.

So far it’s still at least as fast as our Comcast when I lived in Bellevue, Wa. Only downside is that when we get some of those Kentucky rainstorms it goes away. But they usually last less than a half hour. The real concern about those storms is having to grade the hill part of my driveway afterward. :(
