So making a standard, a national standard, that all third graders must learn their times tables and all third grade teachers must be able to teach the times tables is FASCISM???
Interesting concept. Total BS but interesting comedy.
In math, english (reading and writing), true actual history, and science, every teacher should be tested to make sure they know and understand all of the material they are required to teach, in that grade, without having to go to the texts for their information. Every grade should have well defied nationwide standards of what each child should know when they complete that grade. Every student should be evaluated by tests every spring. If their teacher has not taught this information to the vast majority of their class the should not be teaching any longer, period.
This should also apply to all home school teachers and students. The same standards that demand the same results.
We work with a lot of Chinese student every year. Even the students think our education system is a joke. They have standards they are required to meet for both teachers and students. There are always multiple teachers in every classroom. They are in school for at least 9.5 hours a day and have enforced study time at home for 3.5 hours every night. This information comes directly from them and the Chinese teachers that come with them. These children are far ahead of our children and students.
It is all about standards for both students and teachers and parental involvement.
If you want your children to be able to compete and lead in the real global trade and multinational global economy there are standards that must be met right now. I've got a bit of news for you, they are already behind.
If you want Jane and John Doe kids to be unemployed, unemployable, or underemployed then let incompetent teachers continue to teach and let uneducated students continue to get high school diplomas.
The home schoolers and the teachers union both hate my ideas so I have to be getting close to the truth.
