He was in a knife fight with his wife and he grabbed the baby ....I think he is mad as hell and isnt gonna take it anymore
I don’t have a problem if he drags her down with him.
The boy and the baby should be left alone.

When the baby asked for Skylar, Walt realized the baby needs to be back with Skylar, but what’s the use of sending the baby back if Skylar will only end up in jail as one of his accomplices?
Walt needed to protect Skylar from this. Thus, the seemingly angry call telling her how clueless she’s been about his Meth business. He wanted the police who were listening to have the impression that Skylar had nothing to do with his business.
After the call, he broke down in tears after delivering those seemingly cruel, Heisenberg-style lines.
Also, Walt returned the baby to Skylar via the fire department.
He may have been mad, but all his unspoken actions (including his leaving) proved he wants his family to be safe after he disappears.

She initiated the violence, attacked him with a knife and cut him without warning. I wouldn’t call that a knife fight.
