How did Miss Kansas do? While she was my favorite contestant going in, she did not finish her song well. Good through the first 3/4, she went off pitch at the end. The talent portion was the biggest portion of the points, so it makes sense that she didn’t get past that point.

This was the first Miss America pageant I’ve watched in years, mostly because of Miss Kansas. The winner really did do well, and the picture posted did not do her justice. She really is a babe, and her performance dance was extremely well performed.

Yeah, she flatted a bit on the finish, but no one else stepped up like she did; everyone else who sang played it safe to some extent. Many flatted notes that were far easier to pull off than that Puccini finish, and she was knock-it-out-of-the-park good until then.

As for Miss NY, her dance was alright, but rather frenetic. I was put off by the huge grimace like smile she had frozen on her face while she performed. Dance is also much safer than singing, and should be judged accordingly.
