God bless you, wife and Hershee. So many similarities to Max. The legs failing, confusion and the continual walking. Our vet told us that sometimes pain can cause confusion as well. He was in kidney failure and then the morning of his death we saw the blood under his skin on his belly. Just too much. Vet told me I would know when and I knew it last Friday. You will too. Hershee looks pretty good though for almost 18 and hope you get more time
Yes, time will tell. I’ll keep you updated by the Month. We count ourselves lucky by the Months not years now. We even celebrate her birthday on a monthly basis.
God bless, and my prayers are with you in your loss.
Chuck
Just want to thank you all for your wonderful words, prayers and support. I sincerely want to express my thank you for the comfort each post gave me. I could not have been more blessed. One week later, Max has come home. His ashes are mixed with his beloved Snickers, our other little red dachshund, gone for six years. They are together as they always were, touching each other while laying in the sun. They are in a small, beautiful carved wooden box with their names etched on a brass plate. The crematorium sent a card with Max’s little paw print and a clipping of his hair. They are both home now and together.
