Yes, the black widow’s red mark is often described as an hourglass, and if bitten by a black widow, you will know it immediately. One will not likely know when bitten by a brown recluse. A blister will appear and then cave in to give the volcano look. You then need large injections of cortisone.

Brown Recluse transmit necrosis, and surgery is often required to remove dying tissue.
