recluses are pretty rare up north. tend to stop finding them north of the Ohio river. not saying it isn’t possible though.

Not very big either - I got bit by one and never felt it until the venom made all my joints ache. Fortunately not particularly sensitive and did not end up with huge gaping wound but it took two massive doses of IV antibiotics to put it to rest.

My friend was bitten on the hand. She came close to needing an amputation and has permanently lost the use of some of the fingers.

She lived on the Upper Eastern Shore in Maryland.
