About 40 percent of white Americans and about 25 percent of non-white Americans are surrounded exclusively by friends of their own race, according to an ongoing Reuters/Ipsos poll.
The figures highlight how segregated the United States remains in the wake of a debate on race sparked by last months acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting of unarmed black Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. President Barack Obama weighed in after the verdict, calling for Americans to do some soul searching on whether they harbor racial prejudice.
There are regions and groups where mixing with people of other races is more common, especially in the Hispanic community where only a tenth do not have friends of a different race. About half of Hispanics who have a spouse or partner are in a relationship with non-Hispanics, compared to one tenth of whites and blacks in relationships.

Time for another Michael Jackson-Paul McCartney single. Aren’t we the world?
Well, McCartney ended up outliving Jackson, unless of course you believe the hoax surrounding Revolution 9 . . .
It is when the libs say it is.
Well duh. Liberal are so stupid, that any truth of life they come up with, Shocks them.
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO INTERESTED WHITE PARTIES:
Ms Rachel Jeantel is now accepting friend requests on Facebook.
It’s a white trash thing ain’t it? /s
I don’t think it shocks them...it just gives them another thing to think they must control.
This poll means very little if there’s no data for other countries to compare to the data for America.
Not that I trust Reuters to accurately collect such data.
I very much doubt that there’s any other country that has a population density anywhere near that of America.
For that reason, it’s probably impossible to do an apples-to-apples comparison.
This survey is meaningless and worthless, except for its potential to create strife.
Oops, I meant to type “population diversity” but my fingers typed “population density.”
Pretty much. You live in Oklahoma long enough and you become convinced that everyone in the state averages three teeth, and can't count to eleven without taking off his/her/it's shoes.
And those are the college grads...
I never had social friends that were negroid. As for races, I think of only three primary races, Caucasian, Negroid, and Mongoloid. I refer to others by country of origin or regions, such as Thai, Filipino, Eskimo, country of habitat Indians, etc.
I don’t buy it. Another biased poll.
Now segregation means you don’t have friends of another race? Eric Holder is readying the lawsuits as we speak.
Reuters/Ipsos would automatically be biased, I would guess.
There’s another race: Zeroid.
“Zeroid.”

Is that the race of all Obots? Obatatoid race?
It’s an interesting study.
Theologically, God has established 4 known institutions: Volition, Marriage, Family, and Nation. Each are built upon the preceding institution. Within each institution are lines of legitimate authority, which when respected make the blessings of those institutions available to believer and unbeliever alike.
Friendship or brotherly love, is to be shared amongst our neighbors and adjacent relationships, but within the context of respecting their appropriate legitimate authority.
Different cultures evolve within those institutions and frequently needless conflicts arise between those groups when their boundaries are relaxed.
Yes that’s the one!
Not to worry...DOJ is going to set Friend Quotas real soon now. They will be contacting everybody in the country to determine if your friends are too concentrated in your race. Fairness Orders will be drawn up to reallocate friends. Olag-hai, you will be assigned new “Friends” from the south side of Chicago to correct your deficiencies and help you see things more clearly.
