I know there are good pit bulls. I would not trust any aggressive dog if it could cause harm to me or mine. Do pits make me nervous? Yes, guess I profile. But, I have known some nice ones. I got bit by a border collie a couple of years ago. Totally my fault. I would not punish that dog for my mistake. This dog is behaving aggressively and not being controlled. Pit or poodle, it is a bad situation. It happens to be a fact that a pit is more likely to cause more damage more quickly.
I will shoot any animal threatening me or my loved ones. As a 10 year old child I was attacked by a GSD. I have owned several since then. Great animals. The blind ignorance and prejudice against the pit bull breed is outrageous. Yes, there can be a bad dog, but 99% of the time it is the owners fault.
