xzins, at 49, you relayed this - “ the police spokesperson said the snake was found in the same bedroom as the boys.”
Did they say “bedroom”? I thought the owner said they were in the living room, with “couches pulled together”, and piled up mattresses for forts and such.
I sure am glad they are considering other possibilities, because this does not make sense : \

I can’t say that I remember “bedroom”. It might have been same room as boys and I just assumed a sleeping room to be a bedroom.

Was the snake put in the room before or after the children were dead? Easy enough to put a hole in the ceiling and blame the snake.

I agree. I’d definitely do a sexual predation test on those boys.

None taken.
Just avoiding confusion.

If this creature was so dangerous (and who am I to argue with a herpetologist) WHY was it being displayed in a public store?? Apparently, the guy also had crocodiles and tarantulas there.

In a sleepover with friends, why are they in separate rooms?
I know two different incidents where the children started sleeping together at the beginning of the night but something in the middle of the night one of the children decided that their own bed was better than the hard floor/lumpy couch or decided that camping in the back yard wasn't as much fun as it first seemed.
The first was my sister and her friends and the latter my brother and me with ours...

Last I read about that was it was his private animal and not for sale but in his apartment(story changed from original).
And evidently under Canadian law one needs special permits for such an animal and the officials were unaware of him having such an animal.
In short, it was illegal for him to have one...

Sure, with the intention of eating them.
According to the BBC, the boys were handling goats, llamas and other animals earlier in the day.
The boys smelled like the snakes' prey and radiated heat like their prey so the snake struck. Got a better scent of the "prey" became confused because the first victim didn't "taste" like familiar food, launched after the second boy, got the same results.
Mind you just conjecture on my part but such a scenario is possible.

Then there will be bite marks on the boys. I have been bitten several times by (non poisonous) snakes, and they do draw blood, and one that big would draw a lot of blood. Bite marks should have been readily apparent on the boys (from a snake that large) but there has been no mention of it.
I think they were murdered and the snake is getting the rap for it, but the autopsy will confirm.
