I don't have the slightest problem with someone having as my kids as they like.

I can't imagine any circumstance, welfare state or not, where anyone would need your approval. Thus your unsolicited permissiveness is unappreciated.

Well, one of my criteria for choosing which candidate earns my vote is their stance on redistribution of income. (I'm against it)

There is a small but measurable chance that my vote will determine which candidate wins office in any given election in which I participate...and that politician just might cast the deciding vote which will prevent someone on government assistance with a gaggle of children from receiving benefits.

See? There's a consequence to my disapproval!

Well as he was responding to a pointed lack of permissiveness towards not having children himself, his response was not only relevent, but rather eloquent.
