I was there in the Summer of 1977. We moved 47,000 bars as temp labor for a Treasury / GAO audit. There were multiple other sealed small vaults besides the two we moved. You could see gold through the ventilation grid in the door.

So your statement is simply not so.

The question is not whether or not gold is there. The question is, who does it belong to?

THere is lots of gold in Ft Knox. Not much of it at all is owned by the U.S. government.

The last significant quantity of gold owned by the the U.S. government was sold during the Carter administration.
