The Movie Reviews
"Day of the Falcon"
With Tahar Rahim, Antonio Banderas, Mark Strong, Freida Pinto, Riz Ahmed, Liya Kebede, Corey Johnson, Akin
Gazi, Eriq Ebouaney, Lotfi Dziri
2011, Rated R for violence, 125 minutes, Instant Play
Two rival kingdoms in Arabia wage war for the large strip of desert, "The Yellow Belt," between their cities. Finally,
for peace, they decide that since it is sacred ground and the home of Allah, they will make it off limits to both realms.
Sultan Amar (Strong) agrees to allow his two sons to live in Emir Nesib's (Banderas) land as hostages. Everything
works out well, until the American oil riggers show up and Nesib's integrity is over-tested, and he allows oil drilling
in the Yellow Belt. The war starts up again. This movie handled the Islam/infidel situation very well, with no heavy-
handed politics one way or the other, so I never once screamed at the screen.
★★★★
"Mud"
With Sarah Paulson, Matthew McConaughey, Michael Shannon, Reese Witherspoon, Sam Shepard, Ray McKinnon,
Tye Sheridan, Joe Don Baker, Jacob Lofland
2012, PG-13 for violence, sexual references, language, thematic elements and smoking, 130 Minutes
Two Mississippi children, Ellis (Sheridan) and Neckbone (Lofland) discover an interesting drifter, Mud (McConaughey),
who is trying to salvage a boat stuck high in a tree from a flood on a river island. He befriends the boys and they soon find
out that he is in town to meet up with the woman he considers the love of his life, Juniper (Witherspoon). The two boys get
very wrapped up in the situation to the point of danger to themselves after some vengeance-seeking vigilantes arrive to kill
Mud because he killed an influential man's (Baker) son defending Juniper. It was pretty good, plenty of nice rednecks.

Dang, TOL...I wish I had Netflix again! It would be very good to watch movies with you! My Nook has Netflix capabilities, so if you could tell me in advance, I could put in my .02 cents worth.
That is, if I had Netflix again... Dang, I miss that site...
(SORRY!)
Erase this...it’s late and I need to be between the sheets...
