In case visual acquisition is not possible, you may also identify a loon (the on in the top picture, refer to post 2764) by its vocalizations. There are four main types of loon calls, the
hoot, the
wail, the
tremlo, and the
yodel.
There are also recordings of the vocalizations of Loon in the bottom photo, but since I don't want to give his youtube any hits, feel free to search on your own...

He played Ronon on Stargate Atlantis. We are big fans of Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. We’re sort of slogging through Stargate Universe, but we find it pretty depressing for the most part. They changed 99% of the cast, and they put them in a hopeless situation (so far). Only one more season, and we’re done.
He acquitted himself well in the Stargate role, and I thought he did a great job playing a murderous thug in last night’s movie as well.
I don’t care if they’re young or not. I have no designs of that nature on them. LOL!
