Amazing story, thank you for posting it....
Sweet Laz. I love every word you wrote about your Cathy. Good thing I spotted your thread on my own because I wasn’t pinged. God bless and keep you. I believe she’s with St. Francis.
God bless you. Please keep this article bookmarked so that you may return to it in your time of need; it would be the ultimate tribute to my little girl, to help someone.
Also: Keep a close eye out for outright miracles. It's amazing what I have been through. I dare not share it -- no one would believe me and they'd think I was crazy... but I know what happened.
Keep an eye out for your miracles.
Wonderful thoughts; I appreciate you sharing them. Love out to you...
No problem Laz..........good luck my brother.
Thank you, sweetest of sweet hearts, for your kind and wonderful thoughts....
Thanks...for both the compliance and also for the good wish.
You are right, it was, and is, hard. There is however, the fact that this cat has a special place among all cats, everywhere. She has accomplished so much.
In my experience, when he does post seriously, it's usually good and/or informative.
Oh my dearest one! How you could spend even a moment to post on my thread when you have endured farrrr worse so recently, boggles my mind! You are an example of selflessness and are a very beautiful woman. I love you.
Sorry about your loss Laz! I have heard many people say that their pets are like family. As far as I am concerned, my little pet IS FAMILY! I know that you felt this way about your “little girl” as well. Didn’t read all the comments, so I don’t know if this was mentioned, but it might help. It is free btw.

I’m sorry for your loss Laz. My best friend Timmy has been gone for 7 years, and I still find myself thinking of him, and missing him every day. His photos are on my fridge, so he’s never out of my sight. He was only 10 when I had to have him put down after he was diagnosed with cancer. Initially I was angry that he had been taken from me after only 10 years. He was an indoor cat, and I had had outdoor cats that had survived to be almost 19. As time has passed, I’ve learned to appreciate the time I did have with him. He brought a lot of joy into my life, and I’d like to think that one day I’ll see him and my other pets again in the great beyond.
What do you mean ‘hog my time’? This is OUR time, YOUR time. I’m so glad you posted what you did. It was moving and special and funny in places, and I thank you.
Brought back hurt memories of my buddy that possibly had the same ailment, just stopped eating and went downhill fast.
I could not bear to watch him struggle to breathe, too weak to use his box. At least I held him while he went.
Tore me up real bad, though I went through it differently than you did. Did come to realize that I am far more in tune spiritually with my little buddies than with people, for good or ill.
(smile)
Thanks, others have made this observation.
RIP, Cathhy, and may you find it in your heart to share your life with another pet.
It's a guarantee, brother. A guarantee.
Very well written Laz. Your Cathy is in the best of company as she and my Timber are hanging out at that bridge, waiting for us to catch up with them.
Especially this one... "...but I clung to hope like a rescue rope in a cold ocean"....because it's one that every believer in Jesus Christ knows right down to the bone and then some!
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.....be not afraid, only believe. (John 14:27,Mark 5:36)
I truly thank you for the rest of the post, but this one bit troubles me a little. I hate to see you in pain. There are people who love as close to unconditionally as possible.... would you consider seeking them out? Do you know how you seek them out? You become one.
We are all human, and we all make mistakes, even -- or especially -- with this. I still strive to attain an ideal anyways.
Shush you. You’re a good man.
:)
