Stevie Wonder plans to avoid Florida at all costs following the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin in a Sanford, Fla., gated community.
While performing in Quebec City, Canada, on Sunday, the 63-year-old singer said he wouldn't perform in the state so long as the Stand Your Ground law is still in existence.
"I decided today that until the Stand Your Ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again," Wonder told the crowd. "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."
The law allows people to defend themselves with force if they feel threatened in their home, business, car or a place where they "have a legal right to be."
In a video clip from the show, posted on YouTube, Wonder asked for fans' support: "The truth is that -- for those of you who've lost in the battle for justice, wherever that fits in any part of the world -- we can't bring them back. What we can do is we can let our voices be heard. And we can vote in our various countries throughout the world for change and equality for everybody. That's what I know we can do."

The question is: how will he know?
Most people should survive this.
I gotta get me one of those Stand Your Ground laws ;-)
Aw c’mon Stevie! Do the hunger strike thing! ... in fact, go off fluids as well!... hell, just threaten to shoot yourself on a certain date if the law isn’t rescinded in say... three days from now. :-)
Hey Stevie, shut up and sing! And learn that Stand Your Ground had nothing/zip/zero/nada to do with the case!
And if you’re going to sing anything after “Innervisions”, just shut up, period.
So he’s against people having the right to defend their life, got it.
Anyone needing a Stevie fix can get it on Youtube.
I heard George Zimmerman says he loves PA.
Will that guarantee that clowns like Steveie Wonder will stay out of PA?
I bet Stevie Wonder can’t even find Florida on a map.
Uh, Stevie?
I hate to break the bad news to you, but SYG had absolutely nothing to do with this case. It was a clear cut matter of self defense by someone who was very close to having his head bashed in by a stronger thug, who had circled back to initiate an assault.
Even a blind man could... oh... never mind.
“I just called to say I’m racist.
I just called to show how little I know.
I just called to say I’m racist
And I mean it from the bottom of my heart”
Well, Stevie Wonder is a very talented guy, but he’s 63 and if you’re a fan you’ve probably already seen him, so the only loss is to his own wallet.
I would not go the a f - - - - - g Stevie Wonder concert even if it were free.
Stevie has no problem finding food, judging by his girth.
Oh, I’m sure the good folks of Florida will make do.
How about the other SYG states you nitwit?
