As an attorney myself, a lot of the Crim law attorneys his age are old school "conservative democrats" (pro-life, pro-gun, distrustful of big business) because they think they are helping the little guy. Keep in mind that most Republicans were considered both "law and order" and "big business" for years and years. I came of age more in the Clinton era instead of the Nixon era, so I have a different views of the dems.

I have no idea what O'Mara's politics are (nor care), but it would not surprise me, especially if he's Irish Catholic which I expect with that last name, that he's one of those old school types of democrats.

Would I vote for O'Mara? Maybe for trial judge. Would I hire O'Mara if I got dinged in Florida? Absolutely.

e.g. populist.

It’s sobering to consider that essentially the entire Florida prosecution machine we’re witnessing — from Bondi on down — are nominally law-and-order “republicans”.

One of the reasons this trial has gotten so far under my skin is because I am seeing how EASILY a “law and order” prosecutorial machine can be subverted to serve political purposes. That is, when “Law And Order” goes beyond “take criminals off the street” to “serve the racial grievance machine, the environmental injury machine, the gay rights machine, the pro-muslim machine, etc. etc”, for POLITICAL reasons — we fundamental constitutional rights citizens are well and truly screwed.

More concisely: “George Zimmerman is all of us — or any of us”.

That gets my attention.

Thanks for your insight.

FRegards
