What was a shock for me was I had never even considered such a situation.
If I had been asked to list 1000 ways I would bite it, that wouldn’t have been one of them. I can clearly remember the sudden sphincter tightening as I realized the situation I was in.

One specific case I read about did not involve snow. There were two short bridges over a river - one for each direction, and very close together.
Can you guess what happened? They figure the guy climbed over the railing - this was at nighttime and probably after a few beers, not realizing he was over water and thinking there would be a median, to - yep, take a leak.
Shortly thereafter, the railing was replaced with a high chain-link fence.
