I was young enough to remember the Little Rock central High desegregation years.
One of the black girls who desegregated the school came back and gave the students a speech on what all happened back then.
She noticed the white students were listening to her talk, many of the black students had their heads on the desk not listening.
She said her first thoughts was”I put MY LIFE on the line for this?”
She went through desegregation hell, and put her life in danger so black kids could go to white schools, lay their heads on the desks and refuse to learn.
