Wow, you seem really angry, do you have an investment in the picture?

I do agree with you. I go to a movie to be entertained and I love films. I could give a crap about the politics of the actors.

FYI: An American Carol cost an estimated $12,000,000 to produce and brought in $7,000,000 in domestic box office. A loss, but hardly a huge flop by Hollywood Standards. As things go, it made money through video rentals and sales.

BTW: I didn’t see it. Didn’t look funny to me.

It’s not primarily an issue of talent, it’s primarily an issue of who has their hands on the levers of power in Hollywood.

I think the issue that most conservatives have, is that if these people were simply making a movie, it wouldn’t be an issue. But the vast majority of them are into liberal advocacy and promotion of liberal policies, and they use their celebrity as a platform.

I can’t help feeling that way about this kind of stuff nowadays. A couple years ago, I went to see a Roger Waters concert, because I used to love Pink Floyd.

This was right around the 2004 election. I went with about 15 other people, and I have to tell you… I was steaming the entire time. Literally steaming. But I didn’t say anything… If someone didn’t feel the way that I did, I didn’t want to ruin the evening for them, so I sat there and stewed.

It was the most anti-American, liberal, Marxist thing that I’ve ever paid money to go see. The entire show was accompanied by slideshows and video in the background that were anti-capitalist, anti-Israel, and anti-American. Near the end, they released into the air a huge inflatable pig that looked to be about the size of a small house. On one side it said “F*ck Bush” and on the other side it had the message “Vote Democrat” painted on it.

Now, most people might reasonably say to me: “Well, it was Roger Waters. What did you expect?”

And that is true enough. But I will say that it ruined going to concerts for me, and it ruined any enjoyment I still got out of listening to Pink Floyd. I don’t think that I have listened to any Pink Floyd since that day.

The point is, I don’t go around to every telling them to trash their Pink Floyd music. I don’t tell them to not buy the music. And I don’t tell them not to listen to it.

I just can’t listen to it. And it’s the same way with many Hollywood types for me now. One of my favorite movies, especially silly comedy movies, was the Jim Carrey movie “Liar, liar”. But after listening to him for the last few years, I just can’t bring myself to laugh at his stuff. His political advocacy did the same thing for his material that OJ Simpson did to my fondness for the “Naked Gun” movies. Just seeing O.J. Simpson in those takes a lot of silly fun out of it.

Jamie Foxx was outstanding in the movie. Who cares what his politics are.

For those who don’t recall, Foxx is the man who recently told us that we should “honor” our “lord and savior” Barack Obama.

“I’m dressed in all black, cause it’s good to be black. Black is the new white!” Foxx began in his opening monologue.

The really curious comments came soon after:

“I got a new movie coming out, Django, check it out…Django Unchained, I play a slave. How black is that? In the movie, I have to wear chains. How whack is that? But don’t be worried about it, because I get out [of] the chains, I save my wife, and I kill all the white people in the movie. How great is that? And how black is that?”

I care what his politics are. You don’t go to movies if the industry funds and fervently seeks to propagandize for your enemies. At least you shouldn’t.

Well, last week we got a step closer to making “Patriot’s History” into a limited theatrical release.

Maybe he can thrill to killing a few more White people....regardless of his politics.

Me, I’ll have the $$ and pass.

I’m sure you would have enjoyed Triumph of the Will. Leni Riefenstahl was a great talent. I personally couldn’t ignore the politics.

You apparently have no understanding of how hollyweird works and just HOW films get made.

Try seeking some information regarding conservative film makers/writers and then get back to us and tell us again how they ‘don’t have the ability to do so’.

I actually do these days. I am tired of the propaganda against the right and no longer support those who are constantly telling me I am evil because I believe in the principles this country was founded on.

You go to a movie to enjoy it not worry about some politics.

I also have no wish to pay to watch my beliefs being trashed when the movie could have been made so all could enjoy. They made a choice to spew their propaganda I made a choice not to buy it.

Good grief. Conservatives never make movies but sure do complain. Oh that is right. They made the biggest bomb in the history of movie making. An American Carol.....I would go see anything compared to that crap. I want conservatives to make good movies. I really do....but they don’t have the ability too for some reason.

Good grief! If you want to go sit in a liberal propaganda eye candy movie go for it. It is not hard to imagine why we are sick to death of them and have no interest in seeing a liberal black egghead president pull out his hero suit and save the day against evil right wing fanatics.

Democrats good, republicans evil, DONE TO DEATH in Hollywood, and at this point is nothing but crappy propaganda from the left and has no basis in reality. It is not like we could not figure out the plot the first time a preview was shown for this movie and roll our eyes.

It is no wonder this movie bombed.

LOL! I forgot about American Carol. What a steaming pile. You see, conservatives don't get subtlety. They think anything with a conservative message has to be overtly labeled "conservative", thus polluting the message.

You are correct, of course. Conservatives openly mock anyone who gets a degree in anything to do with the arts, and then wonder why the arts don't represent their views.

Conservatives make bad movies? Seen anything Eastwood has done? Tom Selleck? Sure we can quibble on how conservative they are but at least they didn't vote for Obama.

How about Team America World Police, funny as hell movie. The South Park guys are supposedly Conservative Republicans.
I'm sure there are more examples, and of course there are closet Republicans in Hollywood.

Most of your posting shows you have a visceral hatred of Conservatives. Why are you on this site? What is your DUmp name? Your arrogance reveals your true nature.

Phew...yeah, that was a HORRIBLE movie. I think I turned it off before it was over, and I don't do that often.

This movie could be fun in the usual way that an Emmerich film is so bad it's good, but Jamie Foxx? He was hands-down the worst part of "Django Unchained" racist comments in the media aside. I also think he overestimated his heroic stature in the movie. Christoph Waltz acted circles around him and was most definitely the hero of the film. Tarantino had to kill him off and reboot the end of the movie in order to remind us that it wasn't called "Schultz Unchained."

Too bad the Jaime Foxx from "Ray" couldn't show up more often. He was great in that.
