So why not dig up graves and ‘convert’ the remains into ashes and fragments? That’s the same thing, right?
Why do you think Christians in the Roman Empire resisted cremation and put their dead in the catacombs?

People did do some strange and quirky things then... and there were many unbiblical things they did totally out of a pagan mindset which they brought into the church body at that time....even though they claimed Christianity. In fact some religions claiming Christianity do so even today. Mormons do surrogate baptism for the dead...ew.......as an example. A Body once dead...is just that...no life in it. That's gone.
