Even though AA is probably the most effective method, it only has about a 15% long-term rate. You are one of the exceptions who doesn't need a support system. Besides, not all in AA are alcoholics (or even druggies in case you snoops are interested), some use it as a ready-made group of "friends" that can also be used as support for other issues.
