the one going out the door had only a 5 year, but lasted for about 17 yearsYears ago we had to replace a water heater that had lasted for 22 years. The installation guys laughed and assured us the new one would not be lasting anywhere near that long. (sigh)

A few years ago I replaced my 38 year old furnace (Chrysler Airtemp) which had seen only three service calls during all that time.
My install guys said they'd see me again in 10 years. Wrong. Two years later I had to call for service for a dirty flame sensor.
Ain't progress grand?
