I personally really liked Tron Legacy and Terminator Salvation.
Man of Steel was really good and visually stunning. I wonder if it would have ended up on this list?
I liked Prometheus. It had a few surprises I did not see coming. Ridley Scott delivered.
Computer-generated graphics has supplanted story-telling. It saves me a lot of money, since there is very little worth seeing.
In my opinion that scene in SP where the girls in the B-25 are being chased by a dragon is one of the coolest scenes in all of movie history.
My brother raved about Man of Steel, but I think I've seen enough superhero comic book adaptations.
Aside from Ang Lee's Hulk and the first two Batman films-by Tim Burton-there aren't any that I can recall being must-watch viewing.
I enjoyed “Tron: Legacy” though it certainly wasn’t a great film. The soundtrack really helped it.
“Prometheus” was incredibly disappointing.
“Sucker Punch” looked fantastic but was just a disjointed mess with a terrible, terrible script. I bet it was fun to write and direct, but it certainly wasn’t any fun to watch.
“Terminator: Salvation” was pretty “meh.” I’d put it a little lower than “Tron: Legacy” personally, though it did look good.
Jerks. I worked on Sucker Punch in post production and the story deviated from what people are used to seeing on screen. We always said that SP was a chick flick, and only wives or GF’S or daughters bought their male counterparts to watch it.
I also liked Tron Legacy.
It was a good movie and an instant imprint on popular culture.
the author must be some sort of sundance effete.
I hated Alice in Wonderland and the Mad Hatter was the personification of everything I hate about that freak Johnny Depp.
Both the old Tron and new Tron have been running on TV lately.
I feel very old.
Alice in wonderland would have been great but for all scenese with the white witch and the feminst ending BS.
it was just a “look we hired johnny depp” vehicle where he plays a stoned manic drunk.
Yup! Never saw any of these......looks like once again being out of the mainstream saves wasting your life watching garbage designed for the low info masses.
Not on the list but a poster here once stated that “Daredevil” ( the director’s cut only ) was a fairly good movie. Have yet to check out that one. Said that version was almost a different movie than the bad one most viewed in theaters and on general DVD release.
Sucker Punch looked so good, you didn’t care about the rest of it. Sometimes a movie excells so much in one catagory that nothing else matters.
The best stuff seems to be on TV these days: Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones... little by way of special effects, GREAT storytelling.
I liked Sucker Punch, Alice, and Tron. Terminator:Salvation was better than T-3.
I’m ok with well done cgi. Yeah, sometimes it covers up bad acting or weak plots, but i’m not expecting a life shattering experience with every movie.
Just good entertainment...
