RECON TRIP!

I've found two suitable cottage/cabin facilities that can accommodate our group for next years TCMS.

Mill Creek Ranch Resort
(available Oct16 weekend)

and

Lake Whitney Marina
(available both weekends)

mylife will look into less known possibilities.

There is an old coot that shoots at my range, he is like 65.

Watch it there FRiend. I'll be just over 2 weeks from 65 for a Mid October '14 shoot.

OTOH, For my last birthday a new buddy got me this:

That thing around my neck is a streamer. It lets my cell phone "talk" through my hearing aids. Which aren't even visible in the picture, even though I was wearing them. Got a special program for them, to use when I'm wearing my new 33 db "Passive" Shooting "Muffs".

The other guy, Farley, is almost 10 years younger than I am, and is wearing his relatively new cochlear implant. He says he hears better now than he has since he was young teen. He had a degenerative thing going on with his cochlea, was nearly deaf, but now can carry on a normal conversation. He's a shooter too.

That would really look nice flying over the range. And maybe over the “patio” of a cabin too.

I come from a whole neighbordhood, once it's own town, full of scruffy undesirable ruffians.

Just ask the people in the next "town", who once tried to keep a trolly line from being built from our town through theirs, and to the big town, which they are now all part of. Purpose was to keep their innocent "yutes" from the undesirables in our scruffy town. We even had a dance hall above the grocery. (And the Catholic church used it for mass while their building was built).

Our City Council threatened to issue a liquor license right on the border, which is much closer the their business district than ours. The Straight laced academics caved in, and the trolley line was built. My dad used to take it "downtown" to shovel the walks and driveways of the doctors, lawyers, and wheelers and dealers who lived near the state capital building.

Just thought I’d throw out North Texas Jellystone I35 in Burleson, about 12 miles south of I20. So approximately the same time as to NYTexan’s. I thought of it, because I pass it on my way to Austin, where the daughters, granddaughters and grandson Oscar the anti-Grouch, live. :)

Looks like they have enough cottages, but you can rent an RV if that floats your boat, and they are most reasonable

Pool (might not be open in October) , no lake or ponds or river, but they have a water park, also possibly not open in October

Marking calendar. May I be there? My Better Half is not undesirable! Maybe I am but I'll hide behind her. Better Half is Better Half and me just the lesser half. Truly want to be there this year. Better Half hold purse strings though ... am just the lesser half.

LOL ... Thank You Both. I saw in an email the info to this thread ... I understand there are so many folks to Thank for all their hard work being put forth to make this a reality. I Thank Them All!!! I hope humble will not ban me from attending. Better Half is interested in being there, so far. If am unable to attend it will be because Better Half said, *Look, I’m going without you, my lesser half, or if humble says to Better Half, you are invited but leave lesser half at home*. I understand these types of happenings where I’m banned. Humble and Better Half hold all the cards. Got any threes?
