Such “dog breed” stats have long ceased to be useful

BS! Those statistics are indicative of the danger of certain types of dogs over others. How many articles are there about setters, spaniels, poodles, labs, wolfhounds, deerhounds, shepherds, beagles, Great Danes, etc., attacking, maiming and killing people.

Only if the breed was clearly and correctly identified — hence the stance that the CDC has taken. Even THEY seem to recognize that this is not happening in the vast majority of the cases.... not to mention the various factors involved: intact dog attacks versus non, dogs chained versus not, provoked attacks, etc... No way to track that — but happily for the media there are always the gullible who are willing to believe everything they dish out and accept it as Gospel truth — even here among supposed conservatives.
