The theory in the link at post 136 makes sense to me. In homicide investigations, one of the first questions is "who benefits from the death?".

Mo married Aisha when she was about 9, and died at the age of about 62 when she was about 20. So here was a young woman married to an old man, whose father was Mo's effective second-in-command. Mo's death freed Aisha from her marriage, and put her father into a position of absolute power over the Muslim world.
