I was stationed in Jacksonville in the mid-to-late 80's. It was really never that bad--nor was it highly "Amish."

I’m guessing its the overspill from the Miami urban freaknik weekend. Jax beach is usually really quiet and no problems at all. I grew up spending almost every summer day there. By next weekend the freaks will be gone.
