Maybe the ‘kayak tours’ include that graffiti section that we kids loved, with the decorated storm drain covers and tires.

Probably a lot of “lost” guns in that stretch of “river.”
To: BenLurkin
Can you pan for gold there?
To: BenLurkin
Screw government. People have been kayaking a stretch of it near us for years.
The only time it becomes an issue is during heavy rain when some idiot has to take his kid(s) down to see the running water.

Have to admit I haven’t seen the river since I was a kid in the late ‘60s, but from what I remember I could urinate a better stream than the LA River had every time I saw it.

Looks more like run off. It's a nice mix of freeway runoff and sewer overflow packed with motor oil, body fluids, body parts, rat feces and other natural elements found commonly in natural waterways. It's a fine outing for any city-dweller who wants to experience that "back to nature" feeling.

I used to play in the gutter when I was a kid, but I grew up.

That’s the LA River? That’s hilarious. It’s a drainage ditch.
To: Cementjungle
Yeah I know, have seen it many times. I live in Bakersfield so have spent a fair amount of my life in LA for one reason or another. lol

The niece Lurkins were reportedly thrilled to see water in the rivers when they travelled back East as little tykes.

The Beverly Hillbillies were pretty disappointed when they saw the Los Angeles “river”.
