Do you REALLY need to resort to some self-appointed psychologist to comprehend that Hitler was a unique - and uniquely strange - individual?????
Forgive me, but it seems to me a singularly short-sighted and exceedingly obtuse, and even bizarre, position to take.
Really?
As I said, even the historian you cited was criticised because he did NOT see Hitler as the unique force behind the reich. And the OSS report, hidden until year 2000 (but Britain dropped the ball a year or so early) was hardly written by “some self-appointed psychologist”. It was prepared by a number of psychologists for the OSS, for the US President’s “eyes only”. After the war, it was shared by the 5 powers and supposed to have a much longer time under wraps.
In fact, Hitler got most of his “final solution” delivered to him from outside, by his “Palestinian” friend and ally Hajj Amin al Husseini.
