Due to persecution of Catholics, there was an defense organization established : AOH (Ancient Order of Hibernians)

Irish Whiskey (loosely translated as : Waters of Life)
The Orange (Protestants)drink : Bushmills
The Green (Catholics) drink : Jameson

I have relatives on both sides of the divide. When I visited, I stayed with 5th cousin (protestant Nesbitt side) when in the north, and a 4th cousin (catholic Lynch side) when in the west.

I have tried both, and in a blind taste test, preferred Bushmills.
