But the 40-year-old from Batley, West Yorks, says the feedback is always the same employers are turned off by his body art.
As well as the Buddhist symbol on his face, Yusuf has two Thai boxing designs and a yin yang symbol on the back of his head.
But he believes potential bosses should be more open-minded about his inkings.
Yusuf said: It is really getting me down and it is so hard to think that these tattoos are such a strong barrier against me getting a job.
Ive been doing everything the job centre has told me and attended all my interviews but they take one look at my tattoos and wont give me a chance.
I can just see the person opposite me lose eye contact and focus on my tattoos.
Im more than qualified for a lot of the jobs I have been for but they all tell me my tattoos do not fit the company image."
Yusuf got his first tattoo at the age of 14, but says he now wishes he had never had them done.
He added: I used to hang around with a lot of lads older than me and they started getting them.
I suppose it was peer pressure, but as a mature person I would not have got them, especially seeing the reaction from strangers."
However, Yusuf remains hopeful that an employer will eventually look past his body art and give him an opportunity.
He said: People generalise and think I am not bothered about working and that I am a freeloader.
I want employers to judge me on my skills and they will find out Ive got lots to offer.
Even if it is a week's trial, I just need that chance.
My advice to my sons and nephews: it's ok to date a woman with tattoos, but don't marry them.
People are marrying goats, you can't say that anymore with a straight face.
He’s 40? He looks 60.
Is that a Buddhist symbol on his forehead?
I thought it was a target.
Wow, he’s only 40? Looks much older.
If ole Yusuf lived here, he’d qualify for Social Security Disability.
Of course I wouldn’t hire a guy named “Yusuf” neither.
For a Buddhist, that’s an awfully Islamic name.
(Imagine your daughter bringing this home and saying, "But daddy, I LOVE him!".)
1. Doing permanent stupid crap when you are young can affect you negatively when you’re older. It pays to think first before doing stupid sh1t that is very hard and expensive to undo.
2. He looks way older than 40. That is either hard living partying or really bad genetics.
3. If this is the best the media can come up with to get us off the massive Obama scandals, it’s pretty sad.
um... are you qualified to do anything Yusuf?
(except be an idiot?)
I always tell my kids I LOVE face tatoos and big nose and face piercings!
Because it would be much harder to get the stupid people to stamp a big red ‘S’ on their forehead.
"....She also told me stay away, you'll never know what you'll catch."
that logic in the response is excellent.
God certainly did not “make him” like that.
Ask me about my clean cut, well dressed, short haired, tat-free, pillar of the community, church-perching pedo uncle.
Shallow sometimes runs so deep.
Cry me a river, Tatt-Man! Perhaps a tattoo parlor will hire you. I agree with one other poster, anyone sick enough to mark his face up that way has some not-so-savory things happening inside his head.
Boo friggin' hoo. Shoulda though of that before you made yourself look like a freak, Yusuf.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
What a wonderful way to put it!
